Forgiveness is a subject that comes up quite a bit in every marriage. Offenses are common, and the offender usually wants to be forgiven. But sometimes, forgiving others becomes so difficult. And after that, forgetting can be downright impossible for many spouses.

An important factor in Relationships is Forgiveness:

Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone has some cranky days. Many people say things they do not mean now and then. Anyone cannot continue a marriage relationship over a long period without forgiveness. Everyone needs to give and get forgiveness. But it’s difficult to forgive in marriage.

Islam considers the family as the basic unit of human society. The foundation of a family is laid through marriage. Forgiveness is an important factor in leading a happy life. So, The relationship between husband and wife should be strong and everlasting.

Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) said:

“The best among you is he who treats the members of his family best.”

Forgiveness allows resumption of unity and to move forward as a couple. And make the bond much stronger between the couple. If repentance does not occur for small or large unkind words or actions, the bond often fails.

ALLAH Almighty said in Quran:

“He has put affection between their hearts. Had you spent all that is in the earth, you could not have put affection between their hearts, but Allah put affection between them; surely He is mighty, wise. So it may be that Allah will create friendship between you and those whom you hold as enemies. Allah is all-powerful. Allah is oft-forgiving, ever-merciful.”

(Surah Mumtahana 60:7).

We often compare forgiveness with something warm and fuzzy, but to forgive osomeone is quite the opposite. Forgiveness can be quite painful when it involves someone you are in life with. In marriage, forgiveness is not “don’t worry about what you did,” and stuff likes this. In marriage, forgiveness sounds spiritual and great coming out of our mouths. Repentance is not lip service; it’s a deep act.
